Important Insurance Update: The landscape for lactation support is rapidly shifting. Many insurance providers are tightening their guidelines and moving away from covering dedicated, specialized lactation experts (IBCLCs), instead restricting lactation benefits exclusively to general medical visits with an MD, NP, or CNM. Because standard, time-constrained medical appointments rarely allow for the intensive, unhurried care required to solve complex feeding issues, you may find your plan no longer covers specialized visits.

While navigating these system shifts, we are making every effort to not go to an exclusive self-pay model.  However, if your insurance has adopted this restrictive policy and self-pay is your only option, please know that your peace of mind, your nursing goals, and the health of both you and your baby are absolutely worth the investment. We refuse to let corporate policy changes compromise the dedicated, expert support you deserve. To help you fight for reimbursement.   we will provide you with a comprehensive, insurance-ready Superbill containing all the necessary medical codes to submit to your insurance carrier.  we accept fsa/hsa for all self-pay visits.

We strongly encourage you to reach out to your insurance carrier directly to encourage they cover expert lactation care provided by certified IBCLCs. Furthermore, during your next open enrollment or when shopping for a new health plan, we urge you to intentionally select insurers that explicitly value comprehensive lactation care and support maternal and children's health.
