A postpartum follow-up visit is for current clients only and provides continued support as your feeding journey evolves. These sessions address ongoing concerns such as milk supply, pumping, returning to work, bottle introduction, or changes in baby’s feeding patterns. As your baby grows and your needs shift, follow-up care ensures your plan remains aligned with your goals, offering reassurance, adjustments, and expert guidance to help you move forward with confidence.

Lactation support is crucial in the early days and weeks after birth, when feeding patterns and milk supply are being established. An initial consultation focuses on assessing latch and positioning, addressing nipple pain or feeding concerns, monitoring milk transfer and baby’s weight gain, and creating a personalized plan to support your goals. Early support can prevent small challenges from becoming overwhelming, helping you feel confident, supported, and reassured as you and your baby learn together.

Meeting with a lactation consultant during pregnancy allows you to feel empowered, gain knowledge, and help you advocate for yourself to help you along your breastfeeding journey.   We will discuss your breastfeeding goals, any personal risk factors, breastfeeding basics, colostrum harvesting (if appropriate), and come up with a personalized plan for those first few days after birth.  Preparation doesn’t guarantee a perfect journey, but it greatly increases the likelihood of a smoother start and a more positive feeding experience.
